so totally rocked!
First Day
Arrived at the place at 11 something. felt a little out of place cause i didn’t know anybody. then started getting to know each other so it was better. actually the first day was pretty much uneventful, from the talks and sessions in the hall to the constantly trying to keep warm cause the hall was so cold, something like winter. we also had a session where we were supposed to take pictures. the topic was green.
started to get to know my roomies that night, they’re so nice. from left, Aun Qi, Laura and i.
Second day
We went out into the town that day. imagine 39 participants + 3 seniors running around the town loose. haha. we were handed over to 2 tour guides though. both of them took us on completely different routes, explaining totally different aspects of the city. it was hot, sunny but really interesting. i still gotta admit i found the scenes in the temple the most interesting cause we spend the most time there i think? Josephine was out tour guide btw.
we also saw traditional popiah making which was totally cool.
while we were waiting for the bus to come pick us up again, spotted this guy offering the service of putting a snake around you for a picture.so so scary, can see snakes in the beca.
then we went back to the hotel/apartments. had a talk/session then we started work on our projects. my group did the sound slide. it was fun, cause i totally love our group’s video even though we took so long on it but i’m really proud of it. we did work until about 12 then were sent back to our rooms. my roomies and i stayed up until bout 2 though talking.
Third day
again, we were set loose in town. this time though we were split into smaller groups, and my group got to interview mr. cedric, a wedding planner for peranakan weddings.
first, he gave us an intro on traditional peranakan weddings. then gave us a tour around the house. ok i admit i was dead tired and had to close my eyes a few seconds longer than necessary sometime. haha. get the gist? his house really is beautiful btw.
then we went back to the apartments and started discussing for out performance that night. dinner was barbeque. the mushroom soup was disgustingly yummy. haha. then we had our performances. our group came up with our BRATs song. lol. was a bit messy but we enjoyed preparing for it. =). one group did BRATs idol and there was a sorta march which was a lotta fun when everybody got up to do it.
then we went back to our assignments till bout 3 in the morning. lol. yes, 3 in the morning. was totally wiped out the next morning but that was already the last day.
Fourth / last day
everybody was a bit melancholy i think, cause the last few days had gone by so fast. but mostly i think people were a bit knackered after sleeping at 3 the night before. haha. we had our self defense workshop. Akido!. then had some time to finish our assignments. packed up and reveiwed our videos after that. was both pleased our groups did great jobs. then everybody started with the byes and picture taking and camwhoring.
by the time the above picture was taken, so many people had left.
the seniors kept finding ways to destress us with games.
all in all, it was a great camp!. gonna miss you guys.
leave your links la people, then i’ll link you. haha.
xoxo
